Services
Lingo provides assessment and therapy services in a range of different areas.
Therapy sessions start at 45 minutes and can be completed at the home, preschool, school or via Telehealth.

Speech Sounds
This refers to the pronunciation of sounds in words. For example, some children may replace the ‘s’ sound with the ‘t’ sound such as “tee” for ‘see’. Some speech sound errors are a part of the typical development of speech and some are not.

Language
Language encompasses both receptive (comprehension of concepts and spoken language) and expressive (use of words, grammar and sentence structure) skills. Some people may have difficulty understanding information or expressing themselves clearly.

Stuttering
Stuttering involves the repetition of sounds, syllables, words or phrases which disrupts the flow of speech. Stuttering may be frustrating for individuals and the onset usually occurs around the preschool age.

Executive Functioning
This includes auditory processing (remembering and organising spoken information), planning and problem-solving, generating ideas and flexibility.
Executive functioning skills support people to absorb information and complete tasks, as well as engage socially.

Eating and Meal Time Management
Some people have difficulty with eating.
It may be related to structural issues with the mouth, behavioural, environmental or sensory issues.

Literacy
Literacy skills include foundational skills such as phonological awareness (manipulation of sounds, rhyming etc), writing (sentence structure, grammar), spelling, reading accuracy and reading comprehension. Children with language and speech difficulties are more likely to have challenges in this area.

Functional Skills
Functional skills like cooking, planning out your day, understanding medical information, navigating use of a phone, and budgeting are all connected to our higher level language skills.

Social Communication
Every person interacts with others in a unique way. Some individuals find it difficult to connect with others or understand social situations. Therapy can provide support for individuals to utilise their strengths to engage in positive interactions with others.
